In 2016/17, Literature at MUSA will continue showcasing texts by writers who have received an award or a scholarship from the City of Vienna Cultural Affairs Department.

The season is opened by Ilse Kilic, winner of this year’s Veza Canetti Literature Award. She will read from her works on Wednesday, 5 October 2016.

The Literature at MUSA reading in November will be held by two young writers, Irmgard Fuchs und Magda Woitzuck, to be followed in December by Renate Welsh and Hellmut Butterweck. Renate Welsh won the 2016 Literature Award granted by the City of Vienna, while Hellmut Butterweck received the City of Vienna Award for Journalism. Our programme for 2017 illustrates the wide variety of Vienna’s literary scene, ranging from a reading of satirical texts by Margret Kreidl to a discussion on current positions in audio drama by local artists FALKNER and Robert Woelfl.

The Literature at MUSA programme for 2016/17 is completed with a mix of readings by emerging writers just as well as established authors.
